It is unnecessary to purchase an expensive laser alignment system to obtain shaft alignments on a timely basis. The AlignmentQuestTM System employs conventional, readily available dial indicators to their maximum potential. A built-in inclinometer provides accurate rotational data. The software then calculates the proper adjustments to bring the shafts into near perfect alignment. For bolt bound or tight conditions, it is only necessary to click the mouse to see alternative adjustments and graphical orientations.
With the limited swing feature, it is no longer necessary to use a mirror to read the indicators, thereby minimizing the potential for human error. Another feature, currently unavailable elsewhere, is the program’s ability to map the 360 degree rotation and check each degree of rotation for human and/or hardware errors that might be contributing to a false reading. If there is a limited swing condition, the software will alert the user to expected reduction in accuracy. However, the user is not prevented from performing an alignment under a very limited condition. The measurement data can be saved to a disk drive or printed directly to a standard printer.
