Training Manuals

SpectraQuest has developed a unique, real-world training course in
vibration analysis entitled the SpectraQuest Turnkey Vibration Training
System. The manuals are a critical component of this package. The text
that accompanies the program is divided into two volumes:
Volume I starts with a brief overview of Preventive/Predictive Maintenance
and continues with the general theory of vibration, transducers, digital
signal processing, data analysis techniques, and machinery fault diagnosis.
Included are basic formulas and tables required for fault frequency
detection.
Volume II starts with the philosophy of machinery troubleshooting,
transducer calibration and mounting, data collection, analysis,
and reporting, and provides step by step procedures for baseline
vibration
signatures and specific machinery faults. The exercises reinforce
the "book
learning" and encourage the student to really think about
the process in a disciplined manner. It also provides organized
laboratory
exercises that coach in the design of the experiment, require mechanically
configuring the Machinery Fault Simulator, instrumenting it, setting
up the data acquisition parameters, collecting the data, and analyzing
the results. The instructional process adheres to a natural pattern
with the theory and practical advice being presented first, followed
by hands-on exercises to reinforce and demonstrate the concepts.
